Jigawa Journal of Environmental and Earth Sciences (JIJEES)
Call for Papers
About the Journal
JIJEES is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences,
Federal University Dutse (FUD), Nigeria. The journal is issued twice annually, with editions
released in May and September.
The journal welcomes the submission of original research articles, review papers, theoretical
studies, and short communications (synopses) in the fields of:
a. Environmental Sciences
b. Geography
c. Geology

d. Urban and Regional Planning
e. Pure and Applied Sciences
f. Earth Sciences
g. Applied Research and Innovations
h. Related interdisciplinary fields
Manuscript Submission
All submissions and correspondence must be conducted electronically. Authors should submit
their manuscripts as email attachments to:
jijees@fud.edu.ng
A manuscript review fee of ₦7,000 (or the equivalent amount in foreign currency for
international contributors) is required upon submission. Payments should be made to the Jigawa
Journal of Environmental and Earth Sciences (JIJEES) Account at FUD Microfinance Bank,
Nigeria:

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will be required to pay a publication fee of ₦25,000.
Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published,
submitted elsewhere for publication, or currently under consideration by another journal. All
manuscripts should be submitted in an editable Microsoft Word format.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Authors should prepare manuscripts according to the following specifications:
a. Font: Times New Roman
b. Font Size: 12-point
c. Paper Size: A4
d. Line Spacing: Double-spaced
e. Margins:
a. Left and Right: 1.5 cm
b. Top and Bottom: 2.5 cm
f. Pages should be numbered consecutively.
g. The manuscript should not exceed 20 pages in length.

h. Authors are encouraged to ensure that manuscripts are written in clear, grammatically
correct English and thoroughly spell-checked before submission.
Structure and Content
Manuscripts should contain the following sections where applicable:
1. Introduction
2. Study Area
3. Materials and Methods
4. Results and Discussion
5. Conclusion and Recommendations
6. Acknowledgements
7. Conflict of Interest Statement
8. References (APA 7th Edition)
Abstract and Keywords
Each manuscript must include:
a. An abstract of no more than 250 words
b. Four to five keywords immediately following the abstract
Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
a. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text in the order
they appear.
b. Titles and source information must be presented in bold.
c. Table titles should appear above the table.
d. Figure captions should appear below the figure.
e. Other illustrations should be clearly labelled and numbered sequentially throughout the
manuscript.
